Depois de terminar os estudos teol\u00f3gicos, ele iniciou uma igreja dom\u00e9stica no centro de Mianmar, um pa\u00eds de maioria budista que ocupa o 32\u00ba lugar na Classifica\u00e7\u00e3o de pa\u00edses por persegui\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Quando eu comecei, a igreja era uma estrutura de dois andares com paredes de bambu e tinha um telhado de palha&#8221;, disse Stephen, pai de dois filhos. &#8220;Era muito quente durante o ver\u00e3o e, durante a esta\u00e7\u00e3o chuvosa, a \u00e1gua vazou muito atrav\u00e9s do telhado&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Quando a igreja cresceu, o lugar onde eles se encontraram para a adora\u00e7\u00e3o tornou-se muito congestionado para a congrega\u00e7\u00e3o, ent\u00e3o Stephen decidiu que precisava expandir. Instantaneamente, seu minist\u00e9rio encontrou a oposi\u00e7\u00e3o das autoridades locais, que foram pression\u00e1-lo a assinar um papel alegando que ele iria parar a constru\u00e7\u00e3o.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Oficiais chegavam repentinamente&#8221;, disse ele. &#8220;Por isso, tivemos de\u00a0<a id=\"FALINK_2_0_1\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cpadnews.com.br\/interna-12-15861.html#\">trabalhar<\/a>\u00a0de noite, enquanto os vizinhos dormiam. Mas eles nos denunciavam \u00e0s autoridades&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>No entanto, isso n\u00e3o os impediu de terminar o trabalho e a igreja foi conclu\u00edda e inaugurada em junho de 2006. Meses depois, as autoridades locais retornaram e insistiram para que a placa da igreja fosse removida. Apesar disso, Stephen e os crist\u00e3os continuaram a testemunhar de Cristo.<\/p>\n<p>Por causa de sua persist\u00eancia e perseveran\u00e7a, muitas pessoas de diferentes origens religiosas \u2013 budistas, mu\u00e7ulmanas e hindus &#8211; foram atra\u00eddas para Cristo. O Senhor lhes acrescentava pessoas, diariamente. Este crescimento teve bons resultados, embora o governo tenha emitido um mandado proibindo a igreja de realizar cultos, em 2008. Ele afirmou que o Evangelho pode ser compartilhado sem a aprova\u00e7\u00e3o das autoridades. Nenhuma reuni\u00e3o com mais de 10 pessoas foi permitida.<\/p>\n<p>As press\u00f5es e as proibi\u00e7\u00f5es pareciam n\u00e3o ter efeito sobre Stephen e os crist\u00e3os. &#8220;N\u00f3s continuamos a testemunhar de Cristo&#8221;, disse Stephen. &#8220;N\u00f3s conduzimos os cultos de casa em casa. Tivemos at\u00e9 can\u00e7\u00e3o de Natal, cantada na casa de um funcion\u00e1rio local. Por isso, ele nos deu permiss\u00e3o para celebrar o Natal no pr\u00e9dio da igreja&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>O minist\u00e9rio da Portas Abertas em Mianmar ajuda pastores como Stephen, a realizarem semin\u00e1rios de prepara\u00e7\u00e3o para a persegui\u00e7\u00e3o e fornece ajuda pr\u00e1tica. &#8220;Estamos fortes e Deus continua a nos conceder b\u00ean\u00e7\u00e3os. Agora, a igreja tem aumentado e temos batizado centenas de novos crist\u00e3os em um per\u00edodo de 13 anos&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>O que come\u00e7ou como uma igreja com sete crist\u00e3os, agora \u00e9 uma congrega\u00e7\u00e3o com 200 membros. Mas alguns deles s\u00e3o deserdados, abandonados e amaldi\u00e7oados por seus pais e parentes. &#8220;Mesmo assim, eles s\u00e3o fortes na sua f\u00e9&#8221;, compartilhou Stephen, que ofereceu abrigo e<a id=\"FALINK_1_0_0\" href=\"http:\/\/www.cpadnews.com.br\/interna-12-15861.html#\">oportunidades<\/a>\u00a0de renda para os crist\u00e3os perseguidos em sua igreja.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\nPedidos de ora\u00e7\u00e3o<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ore por Stephen e pelos membros de sua igreja, para que continuem a preservar na f\u00e9, embora estejam sendo perseguidos por vizinhos e
